Chelsea want to imitate the business of Arsenal
Although opposite when fighting in the field, Chelsea was to have admiration with Arsenal. As reported by the Daily Mail, Chelsea want to imitate the way of doing business Arsenal to increase profits doubled in the next 10 years.
Currently, Chelsea are ranked fourth the club with the highest incomes in the Premier League. In the next 10 years, the Blues want to be ranked fifth richest club in Europe.
Chelsea Finance Director Chris Townsend said his club is targeting more sponsors to improve their financial story. Of the 12 sponsors, Chelsea is targeting 30 to 35 sponsors in the future.
“Manchester United, Manchester City and other clubs have 50 to 70 sponsors and we plan to focus on premium brands in order to go further,” Townsend said.
Last season, based on Deloitte’s record, Chelsea gained 334.6 million pounds (Rp 5.8 trillion). Nominal is much more when compared with Manchester United’s income, for example, which earned 513 million pounds (Rp 8.9 trillion).
In addition to Manchester United, Chelsea are also under Manchester City and Arsenal. The last club, according to Townsend, will be a reference.
