Ferguson: Juventus A major threat to Real Madrid

Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson believes Juventus are the main threat for Real Madrid to retain their Champions League title this season.

Madrid successfully won the Champions League in two consecutive seasons. In last season’s final, Los Blancos beat Juventus 4-1. In Ferguson’s eyes, Juventus are still Madrid’s main rivals this season.

According to him, Paulo Dybala and his friends are a special team. “I think Juventus are in control of the league in Italy, they have been doing it for the past six years and they have fantastic coaches,” Ferguson told Soccerway.

“Juventus have been in the Champions League final twice in the last three years and they are the main threat from Italy to win the Champions League.I know that Napoli have risen and performed very well but I still think Juventus are the best team in Italy,” Ferguson added .

Juventus are now perched on top of Serie A with six points, the result of two games. While in the Champions League, Bianconeri joined in Group D with Sporting, Barcelona and Olympiacos.

Juventus inaugural match in the Champions League is away to Barcelona. The match will take place on 12 September at Camp Nou.
